Former Premier League player Jason Cundy thinks Leicester City star James Maddison could be the first British player to be sold for over £100million.

The 22-year-old has starred for the Foxes in the Premier League since signing from Norwich City in the summer of 2018.

His performances in his first campaign in the top-flight saw him linked with a transfer to Manchester United in the summer.

And Cundy, who has played for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, said on his talkSPORT Sports Bar show: “I think you’re going to have to pull out £100 million to get Maddison, personally.”

The attacking midfielder has followed up his seven Premier League goals and seven assists with two assists from his opening four top-flight matches this term.

Maddison started his career with hometown club Coventry City before moving to Norwich in 2016.

He spent two years contracted to the Carrow Road club, with the first full season spent on loan at Scottish side Aberdeen.

The playmaker is now currently on international with England and will be hoping to make his senior debut against Kosovo in Southampton on Tuesday.
