Former Premier League striker Tokelo Rantie was dropped by South Africa after reportedly farting at national team boss Ephraim Mashaba, according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old, who now features for Turkish outfit Gençlerbirliği, is understood to have dropped his trousers and let one rip during the recent international break.

Rantie, who joined AFC Bournemouth in 2013 for a then club-record £2.5m from Malmo FF, was immediately kicked out of the training camp, leaving his international career in limbo.

The forward, who won promotion to the Premier League with Eddie Howe’s side during the 2014/15 campaign, scored five goals and provided five assists in 53 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries during his spell on the south coast.

A rather amusing article, via The Sun, read, “Tokelo Rantie pulled down his pants and let one rip in the direction of Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba a few days ago in one of the most bizarre acts of obscenity ever seen in the national team.

“The flatulence was so suffocating that the putrid stench continues to hover over the team like a dark cloud.”
