Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool broke yet another record on Tuesday evening, as they became the first English side in history to win all six games of a Champions League group stage campaign.

The Reds cruised to a 2-1 victory over AC Milan to seal their 100% record in Group B, courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi either side of half-time.

Klopp had made several changes to his starting line up, with a number of players including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Diogo Jota all rested, while Neco Williams, Nat Phillips and Tyler Morton were all given rare opportunities to impress.

The German did surprise some with his starting XI, however, as he fielded both Salah and Sadio Mane, despite once again criticising the hectic festive schedule in the build up to the game.

The result capped a good week for the club, however, as they surpassed Chelsea to top the Premier League table after victory over Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Now, it appears there could be more good news up ahead for Liverpool.

Bellingham has started all but one of Dortmund’s Bundesliga games so far this term

As per The Mirror, the Merseyside club are leading the race to sign highly touted midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been in good form so far this season, having broken into the England squad at the end of last season and been part of Euro 2020.

He is now a regular in the Bundesliga side’s midfield, marking a meteoric rise for a player who was playing in the Championship with Birmingham City less than two years ago.

The report suggests that Liverpool hope to capitalise on their rivals’ fascination with Erling Braut Haaland, which could leave less competition for the signature of Bellingham.

The 18-year-old made the move to Germany in the summer of 2020 for an initial fee of around £20 million.

A move to England would, however, make the midfielder the Reds’ most expensive player in history, ahead of defender Van Dijk.

Dortmund, who Klopp managed previously, will reportedly demand as much as £90 million for the teenager.

Bellingham has made 68 appearances for Dortmund since singing last year, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists in the process.
