Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Carragher, has praised the way in which new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has got his side playing since they switched system.

Having endured a tough start to the season and being thumped 3-0 by Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side, the Italian boss decided a change of formation was in order, and implemented a 3-4-3 system.

Since the switch the Blues have one six on the bounce in the Premier League and are yet to concede a goal, with a 4-0 win over former manager Jose Mourinho and a 5-0 drumming of Ronald Koeman’s Everton the highlights.

Speaking on Monday Night Football, as Chelsea took on Middlesbrough to go top of the league, the former Liverpool and England defender hailed Conte’s side since the change.

“Looking at their formation,” Carragher, who was alongside Wales manager Chris Coleman, said.

“I think this is a formation you’ve used at Wales, Chris.

“And, for me, Chelsea are playing it better than anyone I’ve ever seen.”

Diego Costa’s tenth Premier League goal of the season was enough to send the West London side top of the table after Liverpool dropped points with a draw at Southampton, where Conte’s side had already won 2-0 earlier in their impressive run.

The league leaders now face a real test as they come up against title challengers Tottenham and Man City in the next two gameweeks.
