Niall Quinn believes Chelsea are level with Liverpool as the Premier League’s most improved team this season, thanks to the summer addition of midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The football expert and columnist, in his latest Sky Sports piece, says Antonio Conte’s capture of the France international enforcer has ignited The Blues’ turn in fortunes this term following their fifth successive league victory on the trot, helping them move within one point of top-flight leaders Liverpool.
He said, “Chelsea picking off N’Golo Kante from the Leicester herd when they were down at the watering hole in the summer was just the law of the jungle.
“The deal was a quiet, efficient piece of business which has hurt Leicester badly and helped Chelsea no end.
“Kante and Nemanja Matic in central midfield are the motor which makes Chelsea rival Liverpool as the most improved team of the year so far.”
