FC Barcelona tipped to make another offer for Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera in January

FC Barcelona are reportedly set to make a move to sign Spain international midfielder Ander Herrera, according to The Sun.

The defending La Liga champions, who take on Girona in the Spanish top-flight on Sunday, have been tipped to make another offer for the Manchester United star during the upcoming January transfer window.

The 29-year-old, who has two international caps for his country, has played just 69 minutes of Premier League action for United so far this season, starting their 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Herrera, who arrived at Old Trafford back in June 2014 following his reported £28.8m move from Athletic Bilbao, has scored 17 goals in 163 appearances in all competitions for The Red Devils overall.

However, the report claims Barcelona, who submitted a bid for the central midfielder this summer, are set to reignite their interest in the former Real Zaragoza star during the New Year market.

Herrera is out of contract at The Theatre of Dreams come June 2019, and is currently valued at £27m.

The Spaniard would be free to talk to European clubs in January about signing a pre-contract agreement ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
