Pep Guardiola’s side is bolstered with talent in every single position.

When considering the transfer fee, the salaries, and other potential add-ons, Manchester City’s squad is the most expensive on the whole planet.

Switzerland-based independent research group CIES Football Observatory estimated the Citizens’ squad to be worth €1.08 billion.

It is an astronomical figure for the seven-time Premier League champions.

They flexed their financial muscle once more this season, forking out £100m on Jack Grealish.

The seismic fee made the former Aston Villa captain the first ever Premier League signing to be worth £100m.

However, his fee does not guarantee him special treatment, and the same goes for Manchester City’s other expensive stars, according to City captain Fernandinho.

City stars cannot afford to slacken

“The results and level of play we’ve had at City goes according to this determination from each player in training,” Fernandinho said.

“I can’t name one, two players who dedicate themselves more, the whole squad knows the importance of training well to play well later.

“If the lad doesn’t commit himself, he’ll be out of the City starting XI. I think this is the best way for us to behave ourselves as a high-level team which wants to win big things.”

Guardiola regularly rotates his team, ensuring freshness and form are always maintained in every player.

After a frustrating start to the season where they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur, the Sky Blues reacted with two consecutive 5-0 victories against Norwich City and Arsenal.

They take on Leicester City at the Kingpower stadium in what will be a very tough match for the reigning champions.

Leicester were soundly defeated 4-1 by West Ham before the international break, but they will take confidence by the fact they defeated City in the Community Shield in August.
