Manchester City’s reward for their 8-0 victory over Salford City on Saturday is a trip to face either Leyton Orient or Derby County in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

City cruised through to round four with a convincing victory at The Etihad on Saturday, with Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, Nico O’Reilly and Divin Mubama all on the scoresheet.

Midfielder James McAtee also netted a second-half hat-trick for the Citizens, amid ongoing speculation surrounding his future.

Now, it appears that the Englishman has attracted significant interest from clubs in Germany.

According t0 Fabrizio Romano, no fewer than five Bundesliga clubs have enquired about midfielder McAtee, 22.

Romano claims that Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Mainz and RB Leipzig have all enquired about the player’s availability.

The attacking midfielder is a product of City’s youth academy and has played 18 times for the club at senior level, but he had only scored once before netting his hat-trick on Saturday.

McAtee has previously spent time on loan at Sheffield United, where he has made a total of 75 appearances across all competitions.

The former England Under-21 international is under contract with City until the summer of 2026, but Romano suggests that he could leave The Etihad this month with Germany by far his most likely destination.

This term the midfielder has found opportunities very hard to come by, making just 11 appearances across all competitions and failing to start a single Premier League match despite City suffering with injuries in the middle of the pitch.

It is unclear whether or not the player himself is keen on a move away from Manchester, or whether City would allow him to leave during the current transfer window.
