Spireites struggle without Ched Evans

Chesterfield were without their top two goalscorers on Saturday, in the forms of Jay O’Shea and Ched Evans.

After O’Shea was sent out on loan to local rivals Sheffield United, Ched Evans has taken the role as the club’s main goalscoring outlet.

Kristian Dennis may have netted for the Spireites, but the hosts missed plenty of easy chances on Saturday afternoon, which Evans would have comfortably finished off.

Dennis’ goal puts him level with Evans for the season, but the duo must improve their goalscoring form if they want to survive in League One.
