West Ham’s talented defender Reece Oxford is a transfer target for Nottingham Forest.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Championship outfit want to bring in the 18-year-old to tighten up at the back in Forest’s fight to avoid relegation.

Rangers have also reportedly made an enquiry about taking Oxford on loan leaving Slaven Bilic with a straight choice between the two options although Forest are more likely to offer a loan fee or higher portion of the players wages.

West Ham were delighted to get the 18-year-old onto a new four and a half year contract before the new year with strong interest from both Manchester clubs to contend with.

Oxford made two appearances at the start of the season but picked up an injury that ruled him out for two months and has only recently returned to full fitness.

Forest are currently without a manager but that shouldn’t be a problem with many loan deals agreed at boardroom level.
