Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will hope to see his side improve when they face Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils narrowly avoided a huge upset against Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals last weekend, before having to come from behind twice to overcome 20th-placed Sheffield United in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

United will now face an in-form Clarets side that have lost just once in their last seven league games as they fight bravely against relegation.

Speculation surrounding the future of Ten Hag remains rife after another disappointing week, with rumours suggesting that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS could dispense with the Dutchman this summer.

With that in mind, it appears that a former Chelsea boss could be in line to succeed him.

As per Football Insider, Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is one of the leading contenders to replace Ten Hag if he does depart Old Trafford.

Tuchel won the Champions League during his time in London

The report claims that Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi is another contender to succeed the Dutchman.

Those in charge of Man United are reportedly set to make a decision on Ten Hag’s future before the end of the current campaign, and they are therefore monitoring a number of potential candidates in case he is sacked.

Tuchel enjoyed huge success during his time at Chelsea, winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup before departing in April 2022.

He has since taken charge of German side Bayern Munich, but after winning the Bundesliga title last term, the German has failed to defend the title this season as Bayer Leverkusen have cruised to victory.

Tuchel is set to depart Bavaria this summer, and it appears increasingly likely that he could be heading for Manchester.
