Marcus Rashford is expected to return to the Manchester United starting line up on Tuesday evening as The Red Devils face Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

The England international was dropped to the bench for the game against Wolves on Monday due to an ‘internal disciplinary issue’, however he did score the winning goal after being substituted on at half-time at Molineux.

Rashford appears to have assumed the role of United’s primary goal scoring threat following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November, but it seems that Erik ten Hag is still looking for a new recruit in attack.

According to The Times via United Report, The Red Devils are considering a move for AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud.

The report claims that the Frenchman, who is set to be out of contract at the end of the current campaign, has been on United’s radar for a while.

However, the 36-year-old is expecting to be offered an extension to his existing deal by AC Milan, which could scupper United’s plans.

Giroud has already spent time with both Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League, and he boasts an enviable record in English competition.

Giroud and France fell narrowly short of defending their World Cup crown in Qatar

The striker, who was part of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia, has scored a total of 90 goals in 255 Premier League games.

For The Gunners, he netted 105 times in all competitions, before scoring 39 goals in 119 games for Chelsea.

Since moving to Italy, Giroud has continued to score at an impressive rate, netting 23 times in 57 games for the Serie A side across all competitions.

He played a crucial role as Milan won the Serie A title last season, scoring 11 league goals.

This season, the forward has scored nine goals in 19 matches, as well as providing five assists.

At the World Cup in Qatar last month, Giroud scored four goals to take his tally for Les Bleus to 53 and make him the outright highest male scorer in the nation’s history.
