Former Leeds United defender Sol Bamba has joined Cardiff City until the summer of 2018.

The 31-year-old, who has 44 international caps for the Ivory Coast, becomes new Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock’s second signing since taking over the Welsh outfit.

He joins former Queens Park Rangers winger Junior Hoilett within the Cardiff ranks.

Bamba; who joined Leeds in January 2015, originally on loan from Italian side Palermo, scored five goals in 56 appearances for the Whites before leaving Elland Road for personal reasons back in September.

The centre-half told the club’s official website, “I’m excited to be here.

“I always want to work with the gaffer, so as soon as this chance arose I jumped at it.

“I know the league very well and am looking forward to offering my experience and leadership to Cardiff City.”

Warnock’s Cardiff currently sit 23rd in the Championship standings, one point adrift of safety after losing seven of their opening 11 fixtures.
