According to reports, Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat is set to quit after his side’s match against West Ham today, and could be replaced by former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson.

The Black Cats are bottom of the Premier League after picking up just two points from their opening seven matches, and it is believed that the Dutchman will walk whatever the result against the Hammers.

It is already looking to be a tough task for the Wearsiders to survive, but they look set to turn to the man who pulled off a great escape with the Foxes last term.

The East Midlands outfit won seven of their final nine games to stave off relegation.
