Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has revealed he would rather Liverpool sign Timo Werner than Jadon Sancho

Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has revealed he would rather Liverpool sign Timo Werner than Jadon Sancho, when speaking to ESPN FC. 

Both players Werner and Sancho have been surrounded by almost constant transfer speculation all season, given their excellent attacking form.

Werner has scored goal after goal in the Bundesliga this term, netting a very impressive 27 goals in 36 games across all competitions.

Jadon Sancho, although more of a wide man has been in equally impressive form, scoring 17 goals and assisting 19 in 35 appearances this season.

Sancho not only scores goals but provides them too.

But Nicol feels Werner would be the better signing for his old team Liverpool.

He said: “Timo Werner can play all the way across the front line.

“He can play on the left side, the right, or he can play as a centre-forward.

“Sancho I think can play either left or right, but he can’t play centre-forward.

“For that reason, I would take Timo Werner.”
