Georginio Wijnaldum is reportedly open to returning to the Premier League just months after leaving to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The Dutchman moved to the French side after his contract expired with Liverpool in the summer.

However, the 31-year-old has started just three Champions League and Ligue 1 matches so far this season.

Sky Sports report that the midfielder is open to returning to the Premier League on loan and that Arsenal are a potential suitor.

However, despite Wijnaldum desire for more game time, it’s claimed that PSG would be unwilling to lose the Netherlands star.

In an interview back in October with Dutch news outlet NOS, Wijnaldum admitted he wasn’t entirely happy being part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad: “I can’t say I’m completely happy, because the situation is not what I wanted.

Wijnaldum was a key player for Liverpool.

“But that’s football and I’ll have to learn to deal with that. I’m a fighter. I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around.

“I have played a lot in recent years, was always fit and also did very well. This is something different and that takes getting used to.

“I was really looking forward to the new step and then this happens. It is very difficult.”

Wijnaldum was a consistent figure during his five-year spell at Anfield after signing from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016.

He made 237 appearances for the Reds, helping the club win both the Premier League and Champions League.
