Tottenham Hotspur face newly-promoted Leicester City in their first game of the new season on Monday night.

After a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last term, Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to see his side improve this time around and qualify for the Champions League.

The Australian enjoyed a sensational start to life in London – seeing his side unbeaten after their first ten league games – and he will hope to see his side start just as strongly this term.

In the meantime, one of Postecoglou’s predecessors is reportedly eyeing up a move for a current Spurs full-back.

According to AS via The Express, Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are interested in Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon has attracted interest from Fenerbahce, who are managed by former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho

The report claims that both Fenerbahce and Turkish Super Lig rivals Galatasaray are chasing the Spaniard, who spent time on loan at both Manchester United and Brentford last term.

It is suggested that Fenerbahce could hold the upper hand in the race to land the 27-year-old, as Mourinho originally signed him from Spanish giants Real Madrid four years ago.

Since then Reguilon has made 67 appearances for the North London side across all competitions, although he has also had three loan spells away from the club since 2022.

Reguilon’s contract with the Lilywhites is set to expire next summer, which means he could sign a pre-contract with any foreign club in January before leaving as a free agent at the end of the season.

Spurs could therefore choose to cash in on the six-time Spain international during the current transfer window, with Istanbul’s two biggest clubs set to battle it out for his signature.

Primarily a left-back, Reguilon is also capable of playing slightly further forward as a wing-back which could appeal to potential suitors.
