Anthony Elanga completed a move to Nottingham Forest from Manchester United on Tuesday, with the forward signing a five-year-deal with his new club.

The 21-year-old played a bit part role at Old Trafford, and has become Forest’s third signing of the current summer transfer window.

Elanga is also the sixth player to leave United this summer, following Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Zidane Iqbal, David de Gea, and Alex Telles out of the exit at Old Trafford.

Now, though, it appears that manager Erik ten Hag could be set to allow more first team stars to leave the club in the coming weeks.

As reported by Football Insider, the United boss is open to the idea of accepting offers for more fringe players in an effort to raise funds for a new striker.

United have been heavily linked with several strikers so far this summer, most notably Harry Kane, but they have so far failed to sign a new forward.

Bailly looks likely to leave United this summer

The report claims that midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay are among those most likely to depart the club in the coming weeks, along with goalkeeper Dean Henderson and centre-back Eric Bailly.

Brazilian Fred made more appearances for United than any other outfield player last season, but the midfielder is likely to depart this summer along with McTominay, who is a product of United’s youth academy.

Henderson, meanwhile, spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest but missed the second half of the season due to injury, while Eric Bailly spent last term on loan at French side Marseille.

Defender Harry Maguire, who was stripped of the United captaincy earlier this month, is also likely to leave Old Trafford this summer with the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane ahead of the England international in the pecking order.

The report also claims that several United players who are in the final year of their respective contracts could also leave the club this summer.

At present, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Brandon Williams are all in the final year of their deals, and could therefore be sold this summer.
