While the transfer window is over, clubs in the Premier League are still able to sign player that are currently free agents.

A host of internationals and players with huge top flight experience are currently unattached to any club, making them available despite the transfer window having slammed shut last Friday.

Former Manchester United stars Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay are among those that are currently without a club, but it appears that another free agent is keen on a move to Old Trafford.

As reported by Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport via Metro, France midfielder Adrien Rabiot is keen on a move to Manchester United, who have been linked with the player for some time now.

The report claims that the midfielder ‘still dreams’ of a move to the Premier League, two years after a proposed switch to Old Trafford fell through.

Rabiot, 29, is currently a free agent after leaving Italian giants Juventus upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June.

Rabiot’s last game was for France at the Euros earlier this summer

He has made more than 210 appearances during his time in Turin, having previously played for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The player’s wages caused his proposed move to United to fall through in 2022, but it had recently been widely reported that the Manchester club had reignited their interest in the Frenchman.

Since then, though, the Red Devils have signed Manuel Ugarte from PSG to bolster Erik ten Hag’s midfield options.

There are serious doubts about the ability of veteran midfielder Casemiro after his woeful performances against Liverpool on Sunday, but it is unlikely that United will move to sign Rabiot as a free agent.

Rabiot was part of Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the European Championships earlier this summer, playing in five of Les Bleus’ matches as they reached the semi-finals.
