Manchester City failed to defend their FA Cup crown as they were defeated 2-1 by rivals Manchester United in the final on Saturday.

The Red Devils went in to the match as huge outsiders, but were gifted an early lead when Alejandro Garnacho capitalised on a defensive mix up to put United in front.

Fellow youngster Kobbie Mainoo then doubled United’s lead before the break.

Jeremy Doku pulled one back in the second half, but the Premier League champions were unable to find an equaliser and Erik ten Hag’s side went on to win the club’s 13th FA Cup.

The defeat means that City ended the season having just won the league title, and manager Pep Guardiola will already be looking ahead to next term.

One of his key players is being linked with a move to France, though, and City could face a battle to keep hold of him.

Silva is of interest to French giants PSG

As per 90min, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are interested in City midfielder Bernardo Silva and could make a move to sign him during the upcoming transfer window.

The Portuguese has been heavily linked with a move away from The Etihad during each of the past two summer transfer windows, and the report suggests that City could be willing to sell him for a fee of around £64 million.

The 29-year-old joined the Citizens from French side Monaco in 2017 and has since played more than 350 times for the club, scoring 66 goals and providing the same number of assists.

He has enjoyed huge success in Manchester, but has been regularly linked with a move abroad.

PSG are likely to have significant funds to spend this summer with Kylian Mbappe set to depart to join Real Madrid, and the French side are targeting a number of areas including a wide player and a central midfielder – two roles that Silva is capable of fulfilling.
