Arsenal will be looking for a minor miracle on Sunday afternoon, as they need Norwich City to beat Tottenham Hotspur if they are to have any chance of securing a top four spot.

Mikel Arteta’s side were in pole position to grab the final Champions League qualification spot a fortnight ago, but defeats to Spurs and Newcastle have left them needing the Canaries to provide a shock result.

The Gunners face Everton, who secured their top flight survival with a comeback victory over Crystal Palace on Thursday.

Arsenal’s chances of reaching Europe’s top club competition next season are therefore slim, and it appears that their failure to do so has already had an impact.

As per Calciomercato, the London club have failed in an attempt to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Italian outlet claims that a bid of just over £76 million was made, but the Serie A side rejected it as they are holding out for closer to £93 million.

Osimhen is reportedly a target for a number of top clubs across Europe

The Nigeria international has scored 18 goals in 31 matches across all competitions so far this season, and now averages just under a goal-per-two-games throughout his Italian top flight career.

Arsenal will be in the market for at least one striker this summer, with both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette on the verge of leaving the Emirates.

Nketiah’s contract is set to expire in the coming weeks, and there has so far been no indication that he will agree to an extension, despite the club’s efforts.

Lacazette’s contract is also set to expire, and the Frenchman looks certain to depart after five years in the capital.
