Everton forward Gerard Deulofeu is attracting further interest from around Europe with Napoli now in the race to sign him, according to Italian media outlet Il Mattino (via Sport Witness).

The 23-year-old moved to Goodison Park on loan from Spanish giants Barcelona back in 2013, and scored four times in 29 appearances and impressed before making his move to Merseyside permanent in the summer of 2015.

However, things haven’t gone entirely to plan for the Spain international, and he joined Italian outfit AC Milan in January of this year on loan for the remainder of the campaign, in which time he netted four goals and laid on three assists to help Vincenzo Montella’s side to sixth place in Serie A.

And it appears that Deulofeu has played his last game for Everton as, not only do Milan want to take him on a permanent deal this summer, but fellow Italian side Napoli are also reportedly expressing an interest in his services, alongside the long-term interest held by former club Barca.

Maurizio Sarri’s men finished three places and 20 points better off than Milan in this season’s Italian top-flight, and with the Naples-bases outfit having the selling point of Champions League football next term, the £7.65 million-rated forward (as per Transfermarkt) may well consider his options in the coming weeks.

However, what does seem clear is that his spell at Goodison Park is over, and it’s fair to say that Everton fans didn’t really get to see the best of the 23-year-old throughout his time at the club.
