Liverpool are reportedly considering an audacious move for FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Premier League outfit, who suffered their first defeat under new manager Jurgen Klopp last weekend against Crystal Palace, are ready to offer the highly-rated shot stopper the number one jersey at Anfield this January.

The 23-year-old, who has four international caps for Germany, has kept two clean sheets in 10 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants so far this season.

Ter Stegen, who has a colossal release clause of £56.8m, has been largely used in cup competitons under Barca boss Luis Enrique this campaign, which has put the Reds on high alert over his availability during the forthcoming transfer window.
