Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is looking to bring an English element to his overhaul at The Etihad this summer, and will target Mauricio Pochettino’s top Tottenham talents in order to do so.
According to reports from the Manchester Evening News, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has placed Spurs duo Dele Alli and Danny Rose at the top of his wanted list this summer, as well as Sunderland shot-stopper Jordan Pickford.
Rose has been lauded as the best left-back in the Premier League this season as well as making the position in Gareth Southgate’s side his own, and now he has turned the head of Guardiola.
The Spaniard is looking to replace his ageing full-backs this summer, with Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolarov both the wrong side of 30.
As well as the left-back, who has been rated at £30m, Guardiola wants to add some English flair to his midfield with a deal for Alli, who will reportedly only be sold for a minimum of £85m, the fee Real Madrid paid when they signed Gareth Bale.
