Man City manager Pep Guardiola is set to axe club legends Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany as he continues his overhaul at The Etihad, according to reports from The Mirror.

As per the report, the former Barcelona boss has been persistently asking for more from Aguero, despite having scored eleven goals in ten outings this season, and left the star striker on the bench in the embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

Another who missed out at the Nou Camp was club captain Vincent Kompany who, according to club sources cited by the paper, was match fit but excluded from the squad.

The sources now believe that the legendary duo are set to leave the club where they have made 518 appearances between them along with a pair of Premier League winners medals.

There is rumoured to be tension between Aguero, who has scored 147 goals for the Sky Blues, and his new boss after the Argentine described him as ‘picky about everything’.
