Gael Clichy had nothing short of a nightmare against Everton.

The former Arsenal defender initially gave the ball away for the Toffees’ first goal after 34 minutes, and was then easily beaten by Tom Davies on his mazy run to fire home Everton’s third.

Clichy was awful in possession and didn’t do enough defensively to warrant another start, especially if Guardiola tweaks his system to match up with Spurs’ back three at the Etihad.

We’ve known all season that defensively is where City have their biggest issues, and that was none more so clear to see than against Everton – Clichy was one of the biggest culprits.
