Manchester City came from behind to avoid an upset and defeat Fulham on Saturday.

Andreas Pereira had put the visitors in front at The Etihad, before two goals from Mateo Kovacic turned the game on its head and put City ahead.

Winger Jeremy Doku then added a third for the hosts, before Rodrigo Muniz pulled one back for the Cottagers.

City held on to pick up all three points, though, and they now sit second in the Premier League table – just a point behind leaders Liverpool.

Off the pitch, there has been plenty of speculation recently suggesting that striker Erling Haaland is a target for Spanish side Barcelona.

But, according to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, the Norwegian remains fully focussed on City.

He claims that the striker is fully focussed on his current club and his future will therefore not be discussed at present.

Romano also suggests that it is impossible to predict what Barcelona’s transfer plans will be for next summer, as it isn’t yet clear what the club’s financial situation will be.

Haaland has been linked with a surprise move to Barcelona

Haaland, 24, joined the Citizens from German side Borussia Dortmund back in 2022 and he has since established himself as arguably the best player in the world.

The Norway international has scored an incredible 101 goals in 108 games for the Manchester club, as well as providing 14 assists.

Haaland has started the new season in sensational form, scoring ten times across seven Premier League matches and also netting in the Champions League.

During his time in England, the forward has already lifted no fewer than six trophies including the Champions League and two Premier League titles.

He still has almost three years remaining on his current contract with City, and Romano suggests that those in charge of Barcelona’s recruitment will not yet be discussing big signings for next summer at present.
