It remains to be seen whether Championship outfit Leeds United take up the option of signing midfielder Hadi Sacko permanently, according to Portuguese newspaper Record (via Sport Witness).

The 23-year-old has had a decent season at Elland Road on loan from Primeira Liga side Sporting CP, making 38 appearances in the Championship for Garry Monk’s men, 28 of which were starts.

Sacko netted twice and laid on three assists to help the Whites to a seventh place finish in the second tier, but the season has been met with disappointment after a run of one win in eight games to finish the campaign resulted in them falling out of the play-off positions.

Nonetheless, it appears that the Yorkshire club are already planning for another promotion push next season, yet it remains uncertain whether or not France youth international Sacko will be a part of that squad.

Portuguese newspaper Record report (via Sport Witness) that it is ‘unlikely’ that Leeds will trigger the option of a permanent move this summer, and with Sacko posting on Twitter a goodbye message to Leeds fans on Monday, it doesn’t appear as though he’ll be at Elland Road next term.

Yet with just one appearance for the senior Sporting side since he moved there back in 2014, the Portuguese outfit may look to move the 23-year-old on again this summer, be it on loan or permanently.

Nevertheless, whether Sacko has done enough in his year-long loan at Elland Road to tempt manager Monk and the Leeds hierarchy into making a move for him again this summer remains to be seen.
