West Ham United are reportedly closing on a deal to sign Turkey striker Burak Yilmaz.

The Premier League club are understood to have tabled a £6.4m bid for the Galatasaray forward, who has been a long-term target for former Besiktas boss and new Hammers manager Slaven Bilic.

The 30-year-old, who has 40 international caps, scored an impressive 22 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish outfit last season.

The Hammers are in the market for a new striker before the close of the transfer window following the news that Enner Valencia will be ruled out for up to 12 weeks after picking up a knee and ankle ligament injury.
