Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane has pledged his future to the club, having broken his silence over relentless speculation linking him with a move away from North London.

The England captain was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City both before and after Euro 2020, and it had been assumed that a deal could be agreed.

However, the 28-year-old has now taken to twitter to address the speculation, and in doing so has ruled out a move elsewhere.

Addressing his 3.4 million followers, the striker thanked the fans for their support during Sunday’s victory over Wolves, and also for the messages he has received.

He went on to confirm that he will remain a Spurs player, saying “I will be stating at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focussed on helping the team achieve success.”

Kane was apparently unhappy at the club earlier this summer, and was ready to push for a move away in search of silverware.

However, his latest announcement confirms that he will remain with the club until January at the earliest.

The news will undoubtedly add fuel to rumours that Manchester City will now look to Cristiano Ronaldo as an alternative to Kane.

The Portuguese is reportedly unhappy at Juventus and, according to L’Equipe, the 36-year-old is attempting to engineer a move to City.

City have been keen to sign a striker to replace record goalscorer Sergio Aguero, who departed the club last year and has since joined Barcelona.
