West Ham United entertain Liverpool on Saturday afternoon (12:45pm) in the Premier League’s first fixture of 2016, with both sides determined to pick up from where they left off following their respective 2015 finale victories over Southampton and Sunderland.

The hosts’ target man; Andy Carroll, who scored six goals in 44 league appearances for the Reds during his two-year spell at Anfield, will be brimming in confidence for today’s clash after netting the Hammers’ winner against the Saints back on Monday.

Meanwhile new Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, who arrived in Merseyside back in July for a whopping £32.5m from Aston Villa, has scored Jurgen Klopp’s side’s winners in their last two consecutive Premier League meetings (Leicester City and Sunderland) and is looking for his third strike in as many games.

With both forwards set to go head-to-head at Upton Park this afternoon, here is how Carroll and Benteke match up so far this season…
