Following differing weekend results in the illustrious FA Cup third-round, the Premier League returns as struggling Newcastle United host 13-time champions Manchester United at St James’ Park on Tuesday night (19:45).

The Magpies, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to fellow English top-flight outfit Watford on Saturday, have lost their last three league outings and currently sit two points adrift of safety in 18th spot.

Meanwhile United, who underwhelming edged past League One Sheffield United 1-0 at Old Trafford at the weekend, trail three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham in their pursuit of a top four finish this season.

Summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum has been a rare bright spark throughout the Magpies’ miserable campaign so far, whilst rivalling midfielder Juan Mata is surprisingly the Red Devils’ second highest top goalscorer (4) this term in the league.

With both men set to go head-to-head tonight, here is how Wijnaldum and Mata match up so far this season…
