Saturday’s (15:00) encounter between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park will host a battle between two of the best central midfielders to star throughout the 2015-16 Premier League season, so far.

The Toffees, who comfortably defeated rock-bottom Aston Villa 3-1 on Tuesday night, have reaped the benefits of England international Barkley’s form this term, with the 22-year-old netting 12 goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile the visiting Hammers; who impressively fought off title contenders Tottenham 1-0 on Wednesday, have almost unarguably recruited the best signing of the season in Dimitri Payet, with the Frenchman starring under manager Slaven Bilic this term.

So with both midfield maestros set to go head-to-head in Merseyside on Saturday afternoon, here is how Everton’s Barkley and West Ham’s Payet match up so far this campaign…
