How Arsenal could line-up next season with Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian and William Saliba, according to the Evening Standard.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be very excited going into his first full campaign as Arsenal boss, following the club’s FA Cup victory and the exciting signings he has made this summer.

Of course, with the transfer window not ending until 5th October, a lot could change between now and then in the transfer market, but there’s no doubt Arsenal are looking better than they were this time last year.

The Evening Standard has looked into how Arsenal could line-up next year.

Goalkeeper

Bern Leno

Despite the horrible injury, the Germany international suffered away at Brighton following lockdown, Leno will reclaim his number 1 spot going into next season. However, Gunners number 2 Emiliano Martinez performed well in his absence and will be hoping to take Leno’s shirt.

Defenders

The Evening Standard believe both William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes will be number one and two centre back pairing next season, which is an interesting call. David Luiz and Mustafi will be hoping that is not the case. However, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney can be confident of keeping their places in the side.

Midfielders

With a 4-2-3-1 formation being played, there is only space for two sitting midfielders in the Arsenal starting 11. The Evening Standard believe they will be Granit Xhaka and the talented Dani Ceballos.

Attackers

Fitting all of Arsenal’s attacking players in the starting XI, is the most difficult task for manager Mikel Arteta. However, the formation mentioned above allows for four attack-minded players to make the team. Nicholas Pepe, Willian, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette will all make the team according to the Evening Standard.

(4,2,3,1) Leno; Bellerin, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Ceballos, Xhaka; Pepe, Willian, Aubameyang; Lacazette
