Chelsea will have to be on top form if they are to continue their winning streak when they face Arsenal on Saturday.

The Blues have won their past three games across all competitions, a run that includes Premier League victories over both Fulham and Burnley.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had started the new campaign poorly, though, and are therefore lingering in tenth spot in the top flight table.

The Gunners, who have won six of their eight games so far and remain unbeaten in the league, will undoubtedly provide a stern test for Pochettino’s men, who then also face Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Manchester United in the coming weeks.

Ahead of the game, it appears that the Argentine has been handed a huge boost.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, defenders Reece James and Axel Disasi have both returned to training ahead of the visit of Arsenal.

Right-back James has been a regular for the Blues over the past few seasons, but has also struggled with injuries throughout his senior career.

James hasn’t featured since being forced off against Liverpool in August

The England international has missed more than 60 club games through injury since the start of the 2020/21 campaign, and hasn’t featured since the opening day of the current season after being forced off against Liverpool.

Disasi, meanwhile, joined from French side Monaco over the summer and scored on his debut during the 1-1 draw against the Reds on the opening weekend of the season.

The Frenchman has started each of Chelsea’s eight Premier League matches so far this season, as well as two Carabao Cup ties, but was a doubt for the game against Arsenal after suffering an injury in training.

Pochettino has been contending with injuries to other defenders so far this season, with Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana all yet to feature since his arrival.
