Arne Slot’s Liverpool return to action when they welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield on Saturday.

The Dutchman has enjoyed a promising start to life on Merseyside, overseeing three consecutive victories at the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Last time out Liverpool produced a fine display to beat rivals Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford, much to Slot’s admiration.

Now, in the build up to the game against Forest, it appears that Slot has been handed a boost.

As per Football Insider, midfielder Curtis Jones has returned to full training and is in line to be involved against Forest on Saturday.

Jones could make his first appearance of the season when Liverpool host Nottingham Forest on Saturday

Jones, 23, was an unused substitute against Ipswich Town on the opening weekend of the campaign, and has since missed the Reds’ last two games due to injury.

But he has now returned to full fitness in time for the visit of Nuno Esperito Santo’s side, the report claims.

Jones is a product of Liverpool’s fruitful youth setup and has already played more than 130 times for the Merseyside club across all competitions.

He featured regularly under Jurgen Klopp last season, playing 36 times.

Jones’ versatility could appeal to Slot this season, with the Englishman able to operate in several different positions including as a central midfielder and on the left flank.

Liverpool will hope to compete for silverware in several different competitions this season, and Slot will therefore be grateful for Jones’ versatility and availability.
