Manchester City will try to arrest their dismal run of form when they host Everton on Boxing Day.

Pep Guardiola’s side were hoping to win a record fifth consecutive Premier League title this term, but a run of just one win in eight league games has derailed their title charge.

The Citizens have lose eight of their last 11 games across all competitions, with their only victory in that time being against Nottingham Forest in the league.

Guardiola will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways against the Toffees, but Sean Dyche’s side have drawn against Arsenal and Chelsea in the last couple of weeks and will provide a stern test for the reigning champions.

Off the pitch, though, City appear to have been handed a transfer boost ahead of the January window.

As per GiveMeSport, Man City target Tijjani Reijnders is keen to leave current side AC Milan during the upcoming January transfer window.

The report claims that the Dutchman is open to the prospect of a move away from Milan, where he has spent the last 18 months.

Reijnders is said to be open to the idea of leaving Milan next month

Reijnders, 26, is said to be a target for City as they hunt for a replacement for midfielder Rodri, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the current campaign after suffering an injury against Arsenal in September.

Netherlands international Reijnders is widely regarded as one of the best central midfielders in the Italian top flight, and he has made 72 appearances since joining Milan from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar last summer.

The midfielder – who has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in that time – is able to play as a defensive, central of attacking midfielder.

He is under contract with the Serie A giants until the summer of 2028, but the report suggests that City may attempt to lure him to Manchester in January.
