Manchester City can return to top spot in the Premier League with victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening.

The reigning champions had temporarily moved top after beating Fulham 4-0 on Saturday, before Arsenal leapfrogged them by beating Manchester United 1-0 on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola’s side can become the first team to win the Premier League four times in a row if they win their final two matches, while Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be desperate to emerge triumphant after finishing as runners-up to City last term.

Off the pitch, it appears that Guardiola will be staying put in Manchester despite recent rumours.

As per Football Insider, the Spaniard won’t be replacing Thomas Tuchel at his former club Bayern Munich this summer.

The report claims that Guardiola’s representatives have confirmed that he will not return to Bavaria this summer, despite being linked with the soon-to-be-vacant role.

Guardiola spent three seasons at Bayern prior to his time in Manchester

Guardiola spent three successful seasons at Bayern, winning three Bundesliga titles as well as seven cup competitions.

He failed to win the Champions League during his time in Germany, though.

Current Bayern boss Tuchel is set to depart the club this summer having failed to win a trophy this season.

The ex-Chelsea boss guided Bayern to the Bundesliga title on the final day of last season after Borussia Dortmund were held to a draw, but he has failed to retain the title this time around.

Since taking charge of City in 2016, Guardiola has lifted no fewer than 16 trophies with City, including five Premier League titles and the Champions League.

He looks set to win a sixth league title later this month, and could also add a third FA Cup to his trophy cabinet if City defeat rivals Manchester United in the final at Wembley.
