Hull City are battling it out with last seasons Serie A runners up, Napoli over the signature of Legia Warsaw striker, Nemanja Nikolic, according to ESPN.

The 28-year-old impressed for the Polish side last season, scoring 36 goals in all competitions, and has started this campaign well, with six goals in 11 games.

The Hungarian international has reportedly been offered a three-year-deal by The Tigers, and will make a decision on the deal next week, before the deadline on August 31st.

Mike Phelan’s squad is still alarmingly thin, having had just 13 senior players to choose form in their first two Premier League fixtures against Leicester and Swansea.

The Polish outfit have reportedly conceded the fact that the striker will leave this summer but will not allow him to leave until after the second leg of their Champions League play-off with Irish side, Dundalk on Tuesday.

The time frame set by the club means that Hull will not be able to get the deal done before they face Jose Mourinho’s Man United in the late kick-off on Saturday.
