Hungary can take an historic step into the knockout rounds of a European Championship finals for the first time ever, if they can manage to defeat Iceland in their Group F clash on Saturday evening.

Three points for Hungary in Marseille will put them into the last-16 with a game to spare, with topping the group being a real possibility in the process.

The Hungarians currently top Group F after their shock 2-0 opening game win over Austria, who are currently ranked 10th in the world.

The past previous six meetings between the two sides have ended in three wins for each side – with the most recent clash ending in a 4-0 Hungary win back in August 2011.

Iceland come into the game with momentum as well after a historic 1-1 draw on Monday against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.

A win for Iceland would at least temporarily put them top of the group and would give them a brilliant chance of qualifying from the group on their first-ever attempt.

Team News:

Hungary have one injury concern, with right-back Attila Fiola absent from the squad, after he picked up an ankle injury in the 2-0 victory over Austria.

Other than the injury to Fiola, it should be a similar team for Hungary, with Zoltan Stieber pushing for a start for the Hungarians after coming off the bench and brilliantly scoring their second against the Austrians on Monday.

As for Iceland, they have no new injury concerns going in to the game at the Stade Velodrome.

The European Championship debutants are expected to name the same starting XI that starred in their historic 1-1 draw against Portugal.

FIFA World Ranking: Iceland – 34th; Hungary – 20th
