Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has poured cold water on any Man United deal for star striker Luis Suarez.
The former Liverpool star, who was key in helping Brendan Rodgers’ side get closer to the title than ever before, has been linked with a whopping £135m move to Old Trafford.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Bartomeu made it clear he is their man;
“We read, we listen, we see this news, but of course, our interest in this particular case is that Luis Suarez is happy at Barcelona,
“For me, he is probably the best striker in Europe and we want him to be with us.
“Right now, we are trying to extend his contract with Barcelona and he is one of our big future efforts because he is still young, he has a vision, a lot of ambition.
“He is happy at Barcelona and together with Lionel Messi and Neymar, they are really very dangerous.”
The 29-year-old, is closing in on a new deal at the Nou Camp, having seen striker partner – and one third of the infamous MSN trio – Neymar pen a new deal recently.
Since taking the helm at Old Trafford, former Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho has had mixed fortunes and is seemingly prepared to spend big at any chance in order to remain in the hunt for silverware.
