Despite the sour end to their campaign in the Premier League last season, Tottenham had a year to remember as they were largely the sole title challengers to Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester, a challenge which fell at the final few hurdles.

One triumph from last term that will not be tainted by Arsenal’s final day leap-frog into second, is the qualification for the Champions League group stage for the first time since the 2010/11 season.

Their European campaign gets underway on Wednesday night as Spurs host Monaco at Wembley Stadium, their home in Europe for the coming season whilst White Hart Lane is under development.

The North London’s last outing in the top continental tournament saw them reach the quarter finals where they were knocked out by Real Madrid, after Gareth Bale scored a memorable hat-trick in the group stages at Inter Milan.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane can create similar memories, all starting  in London on Wednesday, but how will his side line up?
