Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season when they face Liverpool on Saturday.

The Lilywhites have started the season strongly under new manager Ange Postecoglou, winning four of their six games so far to leave them fourth in the top flight table.

Last time out Spurs battled to a 2-2 draw against rivals Arsenal in the North London derby, and the Reds will undoubtedly provide another tough test on Saturday.

In the meantime, it appears that one of Tottenham’s out-of-favour players could be offered a lifeline by an Italian club.

According to Calciomercato via TransferNewsLive, Serie A giants AC Milan are interested in defender Eric Dier and could make a move for the player when the transfer window reopens in January.

Dier has fallen out of favour at Spurs but could be offered a lifeline by AC Milan

Dier, 29, joined Spurs from Sporting Lisbon nine years ago and has since made 360 appearances for the club across all competitions.

He had been a regular at the heart of Tottenham’s defence for most of his time in the capital, but he has fallen out of favour since Postecoglou’s arrival and is yet to make an appearance so far this term.

The England international is contracted to Tottenham until 2024, but it appears increasingly unlikely that he will stay at the club until the end of that deal.

Postecoglou has primarily selected Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven as his central defenders this season, leaving Dier doen the pecking order.

AC Milan have signed a number of players from English clubs in the past year, including former Chelsea duo Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic.
