Chelsea cruised to a much needed 3-1 win over Wolves in the Premier League on Monday.

The Blues had failed to win any of their previous five matches in the competition – drawing three times and losing twice – but goals from Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke ensured they took all three points from Monday’s encounter at Stamford Bridge.

That result moved Enzo Maresca’s side back up to fourth in the top flight table, but they face reigning champions Manchester City in their next outing.

In the meantime, it appears that the West London outfit could soon allow one of their midfielders to depart the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Italian side Lazio are set to submit a new offer for Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Romano claims that the latest offer will be for a permanent transfer but will include a clause that will give the Blues a sell-on fee.

Casadei, 22, joined the Blues from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022 and has since spent time on loan at both Reading and Leicester City.

Casadei could soon be on his way back to Italy

Despite playing under Maresca for the Foxes last term, the central midfielder has been limited to just six appearances across all competitions so far this season and is yet to feature in the Premier League.

The Italy Under-21 international has played 17 times for Chelsea across all competitions, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart the club during the current transfer window.

Romano suggests that fellow Italian side Torino are also interested in the player, while Dutch side Feyenoord and an unnamed Premier League side are also credited with an interest.

Casadei is contracted to Chelsea until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, and Romano claims that the Premier League side are demanding that their valuation is met in order to let the midfielder leave.
