Jesse Lingard will be given a chance at Man United after deciding to stay, according to Manchester Evening News

It has been transfer speculation which has run most of the summer and back even further when last season is also considered, but Jesse Lingard has decided to stay put at United.

After a superb spell at West Ham United last campaign, it was widely thought that Lingard would seek regular minutes, but he will be trying to fight his way back into the team at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has a big job on his hands this season.

Perhaps the resigning of Cristiano Ronaldo was enough to keep the England international at his boyhood club, but Manchester Evening News are confiDent he will find his form again and his place in the starting XI.

The local news outlet has sighted the move of Paul Pogba to the lefthand side alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s willingness to play just one defensive midfield player, could see extra opportunities for Lingard.

Only time will tell of course, but United fans will be keen for the attacking midfielder to find the form he had two or three seasons ago.
