It has been announced that Chelsea captain John Terry will leave the Blues in the summer, after a 21-year association with the club.
The 35-year-old joined the current Premier League champions when he was 14, but has been told that his contract won’t be renewed when it expires at the end of the season.
The former England skipper says he hopes to continue his playing career, but it won’t be with another English club.
“Ideally I would have loved to stay, but the club’s moving in a different direction,” he said.
Terry has made almost 700 senior appearances for Chelsea, winning four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, a Champions League and scoring 66 goals.
