Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has once again spoken out over having to rotate his squad with their upcoming Europa League final in mind as he prepares to face Southampton on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils travel to St. Mary’s looking to make it three wins from three in all competitions against Claude Puel’s side this season, having already beaten them in the Premier League and EFL Cup Final.

However, the former Chelsea boss has made it clear that it will be another much changed starting XI that he fields on the south coast, just as he did against Arsenal and Tottenham.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Portuguese revealed midfielder Marouane Fellaini would be starting and hinted at a number of others:

“So I’m going to rotate some people. Blind will not play against Southampton but Fellaini will, because he has not played the last three matches. These are examples of trying not to accumulate [matches] but people have to play because we don’t have other players. I cannot put four or five other kids all together in the fire; I cannot do that to the kids.

“[Martial] didn’t play against Celta because the options were different but he is fine and he is one of the guys that it is very important for him to play 90 minutes. Smalling, Jones, Mata – it is very important for them to play 90 minutes.”

Mourinho’s revelations will have United fans up and down the country trying to fill in the blanks and work out his probably selections for Wednesday night’s game.

Many have taken to Twitter to throw their suggestions in the mix, with some fans dreaming that linked summer signing James Rodriguez could be involved…
