Manchester United have been tipped to renew their interest in Croatia international forward Ivan Perisic, by Manchester Evening News.

The Premier League side, who defeated Huddersfield Town 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday, were strongly linked with luring the Inter Milan winger to The Theatre of Dreams last summer, but were ultimately put off by the club’s reported £48m price tag.

The 29-year-old, who has 63 international caps for his country, has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.

Perisic, who arrived at the San Siro back in August 2015 following his reported €16m move from Wolfsburg, has netted 27 times in 104 games overall for Inter.

The report suggests Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has identified the Croatian as his ideal replacement for fellow winger Antonio Valencia at United, with the 32-year-old currently starring at right-back.

‘The Special One’ sees Perisic as his solution to his side’s right wing problems, and could reignite his interest in the £40.5m-rated player [transfermarkt].
