Juventus have reportedly made Belgium international star Marouane Fellaini one of their top transfer targets this month, according to The Sun.

The defending Serie A giants, who lost to Real Madrid in the 2017 UEFA Champions League final back in June, have been freshly linked with a move for the Manchester United midfielder before the close of the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old, who has 76 international caps for his country, came on for 14 minutes during Sunday’s Premier League opening 4-0 victory over West Ham United.

Fellaini, who arrived at Old Trafford back in September 2013 following his reported £27.5m switch from Everton, scored four goals and provided two assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for The Red Devils last season, with Jose Mourinho’s side winning the FA Community Shield, the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini celebrates with manager Jose Mourinho.

However, the report suggests Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri is keen to lure the Belgian to Turin, and are hoping Nemanja Matic’s move from Chelsea to United earlier this summer can convince Mourinho to part with the towering central midfielder.

But, the Italian giants would only be willing to stump up £22.5m for his services.

United have completed 13 deals this transfer window, but only three arrivals – Matic (Chelsea), Victor Lindelof (Benfica) and Romelu Lukaku (Everton).
