Manchester City will look to bank another three points when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea next weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed Bournemouth 6-1 at home on Saturday, which saw their total rise to 27 points and moved them into top spot in the Premier League table.

Tottenham Hotspur could, however, regain first place if they beat rivals Chelsea on Monday evening.

The Sky Blues have won four successive games since their disappointing 1-0 loss at the Emirates Stadium last month.

Guardiola brought on out-of-favour midfielder Kalvin Phillips during the win against the Cherries on Saturday, with his side boasting a comfortable lead.

Despite making appearances from the bench, it still looks likely that the midfielder could depart Manchester.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Italian side Juventus are interested in the Englishman.

The report claims that a loan-to-buy deal for the England international would be perfect for both sides, as Juventus will have limited funds to spend in January.

Phillips has not started a single Premier League match this season

Phillips, 27, joined the Manchester outfit from Leeds United in the summer of 2022 for an initial fee of £42m.

Guardiola wanted to sign the midfielder after his immense performances at Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa.

However, since joining the Citizens, Phillips has only made 28 appearances for the club, including seven this season.

Although he was seen as a promising signing, he has struggled for regular game time, which could lead to him leaving the club in January.

The report also claims that a loan move would be perfect for Phillips as he would want to cement his place in the Euro 2024 squad in the new year.

Adding Phillips would also provide Juventus with substantial depth in the middle of the park.

Phillips signed a six-year contract when he signed for City, meaning that his deal doesn’t expire until 2028.
